Well all these photos take me back to my time at Brereton, which was from 1979 April to April 1980 i think. I have some very fond ones and some that drive me nuts. I still get a strange feeling when i get close to the dreaded junction on the M6, last time i crashed the car just before the services i was reminising that feeling of dread I had always in my guts, that took some explaining to the local boys in blue, I can tell you.

I shared dorms with various people those who stick in my mind are Claire and Amanda Banham, Suzanne Curley, Sam Teggin, Linda, Claire Woodruff and the twins. There was also Lisa Gorden, Shez (Sheryl Cameron), another Claire and Penny, Amanda Donnelly just to name a few if anybody sees their name there or recognises any give me an email.

I left Brereton and moved back to the Scillies and moved from there in 1990 where I married a sailor after moving around the navel ports we made our home in Colebrook Plymouth, where he got itchy feet and left but fortunately left me with two beautiful girls Taylia aged 14 and Karis aged 12, the eldest has high functioning autism with features of Aspergers Syndrome, this now means she is home full time and educated at home, which makes things hard at times.
I am now at my happiest I have been in a very long time, managed to shed 8 stone (gastric surgery) and looking forward to reaching the big 40 this year.

My memories of Brereton are fond, listening to the top forty whilst writing home, and oh bless the luxury loo roll...not...how they influenced my later life, have to buy extra quilted loo roll and have to buy 100% fish fingers for the girls although I can not bear to look at them, standing on the corridor as we could not stop talking at night and then some one saying the pictures eyes were following you where ever you stood, how I grew to hate that picture.

How many of you remember the ripper scare and whilst in the dorm next to Miss Dibbles Room (I forget the name) Jayne looked out the window to what she said was a face looking straight back at her, many a trembling girl in that dorm that night.

I can not believe we would get up in the morning and go out in the freezing cold to do our excercises that would be against some human rights now (shell laughs at memory), but at least we could go inside to that lovely thick toast and sh***y coloured crockery, but we had to spend a few mins fighting who would get the crusts. Oh the memorys come flooding back, but shall not bore you any more. Hopefully some one may reply to me
take care all, love, Shelley Fishwick nee ASTEN.
